CSE - Information for Professionals
CSE information and toolkits for practitioners and professionals working with children in Northamptonshire.
CSE Leaflets and Resources
A number of CSE leaflets and resources are available on the links below which provide detailed information for people working in the following sectors on spotting the signs of CSE and how to respond.
CSE Awareness Campaign:
A county-wide campaign to raise awareness of Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) continues to run in Northamptonshire.
The campaign helps people across the county recognise the signs of CSE with a wide range of resources available from all partner organisations in county.
In addition, the campaign directly targets young people. Some children do not see themselves as victims of CSE, and the campaign aims to speak directly to those who might themselves be victims or who might see the signs in someone in their peer group.
On 24th March 2017, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner held a conference launching a 10 point pledge around child abuse. CSE was a key focus to this event which was well attended by a wide variety of practitioners across the county.
Northamptonshire CSE Toolkit Launch:
The CSE Toolkit- was launched in May 2015 at a conference that gave frontline workers the tools they need to recognise and respond to the early warning signs of child sexual exploitation.
One of the speakers at the event was Emma, a victim of child sexual exploitation. Emma has written a book about her experiences, which is now a Sunday Times top -10 bestseller.
Sheila Taylor, Chief Executive at NWG Network, also spoke delivering a key note speech along side presentations from Barnardo’s and the RISE team.
The conference was attended by over 600 practitioners. Videos of the presentations given at the conference can be viewed again on the NSCB website.
A new CSE risk assessment tool has been developed for Northamptonshire, using best practice from across the Country in line with the findings from Alexis Jay's independent report into CSE in Rotherham.
The CSE Assessment will enable practitioners to more effectively identify signs of CSE and provide an appropriate response.
